If you want to engage in Search Engine Optimization, and you really should if you wish to stand any chance of success with your website, then it is absolutely vital that you start to build links as quickly as possible. The more relevant links you have, the higher you will climb in the search engines. Now; there are hundreds of different methods for building up links out there. On this page I wish to cover three of the most effective of them:
Guest Posting! This is a method I love during the early stages of link building. It is going to require a considerable amount of effort on your part though. Your mission with guest posting is to find blogs in your niche and provide them with unique content. With guest posting you will be able to add a link to your website which will send people your direction. There are a number of different benefits to this. The first is that you are getting links out there on websites in your niche. This is great for boosting your position in the search engines! You will also be sending targeted readers to your site via the links (if you select the right site to have your information posted on of course). You will also be boosting your reputation in your niche. This will work wonders for generating cash in the future!
Social media is also a brilliant way in which to build up links. There are a number of different ways in which you can utilize social media here. Your first step should be to always have some method of sharing the content on your website. If people like the content then they will instantly share it with their friends and family on their social media network. This will get you a decent amount of links straight away. In addition to this; you will want to start up a social media page for your business (Facebook and Twitter at the very minimum here!). This will allow you to share updates and the like with your followers. If they share these updates with their friends and family then you will generate a decent amount of links.
Perhaps my favorite way in which to link build is to put together top quality content. Everything that you put on your website needs to be informative. If it is informative and unique enough then people will share it online in a multitude of different places. Good quality content tends to go viral. If people continue to share your content (and they will if it is good!), then you will end up with a ton of traffic on your website. I can never understand why sites put together sub-par content. This is not beneficial in the slightest.
Remember; this is just a brief introduction to link building strategies. There are plenty of other methods you can use. The three methods highlighted are a decent start for a beginner however!
Wrapping It Up...
When building links to your website you have to make sure you are using “white-hat” link building strategies. Google over the years has been cracking down on spammy websites especially with the recent Panda and Penguin updates. Many websites are seeing decreases in their web rankings and only the best websites are boosting within the SERP’s. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, it’s important to keep the following in your mind.
